 This is a one-off paperweight made by Peter Holmes in 1972 and only released by him very recently. It is a very large paperweight just under 4 inches in diameter and 2.5 inches high. It has one top facet and five side facets. Complex canes are set in a darkroyal blue ground and surrounded by a ring of latticino twists. Peter Holmes is better known for his abstract design papereweights but here is proof that he can also design and make superb millefiore weights. Click iage for full page view. |
 Another Peter Holmes one-off paperwight but in this case only recently made. It conatians a PH cane and has the makers label of Scottish Borders Art Glass. Complex millifiore 'stones' are embeded in a blue ground. A large (3.75 inch diameter, 2 inch high) unfaceted paperweight with a low dome profile. Click image for full page view. |
